Frequently Asked Questions

Registration and Teams

How do I register my child?

Registration can be completed online through our website. Visit the registration page, create an account, and follow the prompts.

I registered my child, but haven’t been added to a team. What now?

Team assignments are finalized after registration closes. You’ll be notified and added to your team in Playmetrics before the season begins.

Can my child play in a different age group?

Age adjustments are considered on a case-by-case basis. We follow U.S. Soccer’s age guidelines, and final placement is based on safety, development, and availability.

Do you offer late registration?

If space is available, we may accept late registrations. Please check our registration page or reach out for current availability.

Can I get a refund if my child doesn’t play?

Refunds may be issued depending on timing and circumstances. Please contact us for more details.

What age groups does SSA offer?

SSA offers programs for players in U6 through U14. Age groups are determined by US Soccer's guidelines, and players are grouped to ensure balanced competition and development.

Games, Practices, and Fields

When are practices and games?

Practices are typically held on weeknights. Games are usually played on Saturdays, with occasional Sunday games depending on the age group and schedule.

Where are practices and games held?

Most SSA practices and games are played at the Keating Resources Sportsplex. Field details are available on the Fields page.

What happens if weather cancels a game or practice?

Weather-related cancellations will be communicated through your Playmetrics team notifications.

What equipment does my child need?

Players need:

  • Soccer cleats (no baseball/football cleats)
  • Shin guards
  • Water bottle

SSA provides jerseys for U6 and U8 players. U10 through U14 players will be required to purchase a jersey kit from Score Sports. Your coach will communicate any additional equipment

needs—like ball size or practice gear—before or during your first practice.

Coaching and Volunteering

How can I volunteer to coach or help out?

You can sign up to coach or assist by reaching out to us. We’re always looking for positive role models!

Do I need experience to coach?

No experience? No problem. SSA offers training, coaching guides, and mentorship to help new coaches feel confident and supported.

How much time does coaching take?

Most teams practice once or twice per week and have one game on the weekend. Time commitment varies based on your level of involvement.

General Questions

What is Playmetrics and how do I use it?

Playmetrics is the app we use for team communication, schedules, and roster information. Once your child is assigned to a team, you will receive an invite to join your team in the app.

I’m having trouble accessing Playmetrics. What should I do?

First, check your email (and spam folder) for an invite. If you haven’t received one, it may mean teams haven’t been assigned yet. Your coach or the league will follow up shortly.

Is SSA recreational or competitive?

SSA is a recreational program focused on fun, teamwork, and player development. We welcome players of all experience levels.

How do I become a sponsor or support SSA?

We love working with community partners. If you are interested in sponsoring a team or supporting SSA, please reach out to us.
