Risk Management Disclosure
In order to protect and provide a safe and healthful environment to children participating in SDYSA’s sanctioned soccer clubs, leagues, programs, and tournaments, all SDYSA employees, coaches, assistant coaches, team managers or any other volunteer who is expected to have regular contact with youth players must complete a Risk Management Disclosure. It must be filled out at the start of your involvement with players/teams and needs to be redone each fall as long as you are involved with players in any capacity.
The Risk Management Process
ALL COACHES AND TEAM MANAGERS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE BACKGROUND CHECK TO COACH.
The background check process can take time so please complete the background check application as soon as possible.
Before teams can be activated at the state and player cards can be printed, background checks need to be completed. The background check is good for an entire year.
South Dakota Youth Soccer Association has a new system being used for background checks. You can access the site here:
Below are instructions for the background check process. Please review the instructions prior to registering as it will help with the process.
Additional information regarding the background checks can be found here:
**Your user name and password for this is different than what you use to log into our system. When you go to register, click on the Forgot Username/Password and they will send you a link to change it***

For those who do not want to disclose their social security numbers via the SDSSA online disclosure site, may use this procedure. Please contact the State Administrator at the SDSSA office and they will mail you the fingerprint cards (605-371-2255). This is so we can conduct both state and national checks (The SDSSA background check vendor has secure access to our online sight to conduct random and batched checks)
Those not wanting to go this route may use the procedure above. We have to do both FBI and DCI because DCI only does background checks for South Dakota and does not include national information. The information is released directly to the SDSSA background vendor, who reviews and sends a report to RM for approval.
